Telangana Government to boost e-Governance by replacing Biometric Authentication with OTP based ration distribution from February 1

The state government has advised the citizen beneficiaries to update their Aadhaar Cards with updated mobile numbers at eSEVA or MEESEVA centers before the new policy comes into effect.

In a bid to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state, the state government in Telangana has decided to upgrade it's Biometric Authentic based Public distribution system with OTP based ration distribution from February 1.

As a beneficiary dockets the card number, he will get a One-Time-Password (OTP), which will be verified for authentication of delivery of ration to the beneficiary, as per officials from the civil supplies department of the state.

In order to ensure proper execution of the new civil supplies delivery system, the government introduced a program to empower the beneficiaries by linking their PDS card with their mobile number.
