Synchrony Financial to install CCTV surveillance system in Hyd

Synchrony Financial, a consumer financial services company today entered into an MoU with Hyderabad police for installation of community closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system in the city.

Hyderabad, Sept 4 (PTI) Synchrony Financial, a consumer financial services company today entered into an MoU with Hyderabad police for installation of community closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system in the city.

As part of MoU signed between Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy and Synchrony Financial Chief Operating Officer Kurt Grossheim, the company will spend Rs 50 lakh towards the surveillance system under Chandrayangutta and Falaknuma police station limits here.

The CCTV-based video surveillance system will involve setting up of IP-based outdoor security surveillance cameras and will incorporate the latest technology and encompass a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre for 24 x 7 monitoring of CCTV cameras.

As per the MoU, Synchrony Financial, along with Hyderabad police, will jointly install and maintain the CCTV based outdoor surveillance system for the next five years.

The surveillance will map two jurisdictions, including Chandrayangutta and Falaknuma police stations. The surveillance network, which is being set up with the purpose helping to control crime in the city, will comprise CCTVs, Automatic Number Plate Recognition System (ANPR), Video Analytics, Mobile surveillance system, Command Control Centre and Data Centre etc.

Kurt said "the installation of CCTV cameras will be an important step in helping to make Hyderabad a safer and a smarter city. We have been working closely with the police department and have been training key police personnel on people-friendly policing. We believe the strengthening of the surveillance network in the city will positively impact and improve the safety of citiznes in Hyderabad."
