Senior IPS officer Subodh Kumar Jaiswal appointed as Director, CBI
Jaiswal, a senior IPS officer of 1985 batch of Maharashtra cadre has earlier served in important portfolios as Director General of Central Industrial Security Force and was former Maharashtra DGP as well.
In a major bureaucratic decision given by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, Department of Personnel and Training, senior IPS officer of 1985 batch of Maharashtra Cadre has been as the Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Jaiswal is currently holding the charges of director-general of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
As per the order issued by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC), he will take over CBI as Director,the post which has been lying vacant since February first week when Rishi Kumar Shukla completed his tenure. Additional Director Praveen Sinha has been looking after the affairs of the premier investigation agency as interim chief since then.
