Sand Mining Scam Investigation by CBI transfers 4 IAS officers in UP

In a major decision announced on Wednesday night, 4 IAS officers in Uttar Pradesh transferred after the CBI investigation of Sand Mining scam in the state.

On Wednesday night, the Uttar Pradesh government transferred four IAS officers including those who were present therein the sand mining scam reported by CBI.

The center investigation says that two cases have been registered in Uttar Pradesh, naming former minister Gayatri Prajapati with four IAS officers who are held responsible for this. The search carried out at 12 locations in the state including Bulandshahr, Lucknow, Fatehpur, Azamgarh, Allahabad, Noida, Gorakhpur, and Deoria among others.

Abhay, the 2017-batch IAS officer who was the Bulandshahr District Magistrate has been put in the waiting list whereas Director of Rajya Poshan Mission, Ravindra kumar has been sent in this place. Now, Vivek, the mission director of Skill Development Mission in Uttar Pradesh and the Chief Development Officer, Devi Sharan Upadhyay of Azamgarh has also sent for the waiting list.

The investigation teams searched the residence of Abhay in Bulandshahr and Vivek in Lucknow.

CBI Spokesperson, Nitin Wakankar reported that “Cash worth around Rs49 lakh was found in the premises of DM, Fatehpur (Abhay), Rs10 lakh cash and some documents related to properties from the premises of the ADM, Deoria.

Abhay twitted that “No undeclared assets were recovered by the CBI. The details of the cash have been given to the CBI which they recovered.”
