Odisha sets up committee for smart city programme

BHUBANESWAR, July 31: Optimistic of getting some of its cities enlisted in the Centre's Smart City scheme, Odisha government today decided to set up a committee to prepare a road map for carrying forward the programme. Officials said the decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the the Empowered Committee on public-private partnership (PPP) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary G C Pati. The meeting resolved that Principal Secretary of IT, P K Jena will head the committee which will prepare the road map for carrying forward the programme, they said. Chief Secretary suggested Jena to take representatives from the Departments of Housing and Urban Development, Transport, Police, Energy and other related departments as committee members.
