Naya Raipur Discusses Innovative Solutions for Urban Challenges

NRDA released 42 Area Based Development (ABD) projects, envisaged under various initiatives such as Green Habitat Corridor, Rural Rejuvenation, Urban Transits and Civic Centre,Intelligent buildings, Smart Water & Energy Solutions,to develop Naya Raipur as an ultramodern ‘Green and Smart City'.

Under Smart cities mission, we want to develop a people centric, vibrant and a happy city. We have a diverse land bank and offer a positive business environment, Rajat Kumar, CEO, Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) and Joint Secretary (JS) to Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh said.

FICCI along with Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) organized a Smart City Industry consultation workshop today at Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh to further discuss the infrastructure solutions that Naya Raipur need for an inclusive development of the green field city.

During the workshop, NRDA released 42 Area Based Development (ABD) projects, envisaged under the initiatives such as Green Habitat Corridor, Rural Rejuvenation, Urban Transits & Civic Centre, Green/Sustainable Transportation, Intelligent buildings, Smart Water & Energy Solutions, Smart Sanitation Solutions, Smart Waste, Health Safety & Accessibility and Visual Improvement projects to develop Naya Raipur as an ultramodern ‘Green and Smart City’, equipped with sustainable and modern amenities for residents and visitors.

Industry experts from major infrastructure sectors such as real estate, construction, waste, water, energy, mobility and transport solutions participated in the deliberations with the NRDA authorities.

They appreciated existing state of the art infrastructure in Naya Raipur and its readiness to be launched as one of the first few integrated smart cities of the 21st century. The smart city plans and projects designed for the green field city were discussed and reviewed.

The workshop also discussed the other innovative solutions to address the urban challenges of developing the fresh urban sprawl, just next to the vibrant city of Raipur in the state of Chhattisgarh. Experts also reviewed the project wise financial & O&M Models so that the effective execution of the projects can be ensured.

“First time in Smart City challenge, we have collaborated with FICCI to ensure meaningful and productive stakeholder meets so that we can understand the innovative and viable solutions industry has to offer,” he added.

FICCI had signed an MOU with Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) on 24th January 2017 to handhold and facilitate the Naya Raipur Smart City project.
