Naidu Launches Special Drive to Ensure Cleanliness at Government Offices

The Ministry also issued a 'Swachh Office Manual' suggesting standard procedures to all central ministries and state governments to ensure sanitation

NEW DELHI, May 16: Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today launched a 15-day special drive for ensuring cleanliness at all government offices as he said that there is "scope for improvement" in the situation since the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission.

The Ministry also issued a 'Swachh Office Manual' suggesting standard procedures to all central ministries and state governments to ensure sanitation.

In a meeting with senior officials after the launch of the drive, Naidu noted that there has been considerable improvement towards ensuring cleanliness but there is still scope for improvement, an official release said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry also issued the Swachh Office Manual suggesting various norms for cleanliness including ensuring water supply of 45 litres per head per day, one toilet for every 25 persons, removal of stains every week and acid cleaning and scrubbing of toilets daily.
