NDMC To Introduce Smart Educational Services In Schools

The project is being introduced in the upcoming academic session 2016-17 in 30 NDMC schools in 444 classes

NEW DELHI, February 18: Acquiring the Smart City tag, NDMC is gearing up to introduce Smart Educational Services through 444 Smart Classrooms at 30 schools of the municipal council from the upcoming 2016-17 academic session. "The main aim of the smart education is to introduce e-Learning solution in all New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) schools, mentoring programme, centralized students e-Health records and skill development," said NDMC chairman Naresh Kumar. "The project is being introduced in the upcoming academic session 2016-17 in 30 NDMC schools in 444 classes," he said. The e-Learning solution in all NDMC schools from Class-VI to XII is to transform traditional classrooms to futuristic technology enable smart learning classrooms by introducing state-of-art technology, infrastructure and professionally developed learning content. It will include high end computer, interactive white boards, short-throw projectors and other hardware and software, he said hoping that it will reduce drop-out rate and improve knowledge detention through leveraging e-Learning. The NCERT syllabus based lesson will be available in digital form with Hindi and English study material. Content of information recommended by NCERT will also be available through the dedicated servers which would be placed in each school, Kumar said. Study aids like question banks test papers and interactive material like flowchart will be provided to the Senior Secondary students in the digital form. The Health record of all students too will be maintained electronically for monitoring their health on regular basis. Under the Smart Educational Services, performance of teachers will also be evaluated regularly in a scientific manner. Technical requirements in this regard have been identified by NDMC for selection of suitable execution agency. It is expected that such system would be made operational by July, 2016, added the NDMC chairman. -PTI
