In a recent development, Prime Minister  Narendra Modi led the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved a host of new appointment of board-level officers. An order issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Fertilizers for the appointment of Shri Nirlep Singh Rai, Director (Technical), National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) to the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of NFL, with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation, i.e. 31.08.2022.

The order issued also named T. Saminathan as CMD in KIOCL Limited, under the Ministry of Steel, till the date of his superannuation on 31 .05.2024.

On the other hand, Sajeev B is nominated as CMD in HOCL as per the order from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which approved the proposal of the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals. Sajeev B, has been earlier serving as Chief General Manager, Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited (HOCL) to the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), HOCL till the date of his superannuation, i.e. 31.05.2025.

Another important appointment in the PSU sector named in the order by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet is Siba Prasad Mohanty being named as CMD in BVFCL

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Fertilizers for the appointment of Shri Siba Prasad Mohanty,  Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL).

On the other hand, SL Tripathy is named CMD in United India Insurance Company Limited by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approving the nomination of the Department of Financial Services. Another crucial appointment in the PSB domain is marked with the appointment of  Harsha Bhupendra Bangari as Managing Director (MD) in Exim Bank. Bangari, was earlier serving as Deputy Managing Director (DMD), Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank), and has been nominated by the Department of Financial Services for a period of 3 years.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for the appointment of Pankaj Kumar, Executive Director, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) to the post of Director (Offshore) in ONGC, with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation, i.e. 30.06.2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for the appointment of Prabir Kumar Gangopadhyay, General Manager, Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) to the post of Director (Personnel & Administration) in SCI with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation, i.e. 30.11.2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Approving the proposal of the Ministry of Power, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet named Baidyanath Maharana, Chief General Manager (Finance), North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Limited as Director (Finance) in NEEPCO Limited for a period of five years from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
