Modi Government Designated 33 New Joint Secretaries

Of the 33 new Joint Secretaries appointed, 7 are IAS officers.

The Modi Government on Monday appointed 33 new joint secretaries in the Centre keeping their promise to put only seven from IAS and four from the IRS (Indian Revenue Service). Other officers are from different services like the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers, Account and Finance Service, India Post and Telecommunication. These officers were chosen in February by the Narendra Modi government in the previous regime.

The joining appointments include officer Sandip M Pradhan from India Revenue Service has been appointed as the Director-General of Sports Authority of India. Also, Radhika Chawdhary from the Indian Railway Personnel Service and G Jayanti from the Central Secretariat Service have been appointed as joint secretaries in the department of personnel and training. This is the networking department for the All India Sevices. 

An IA&AS Officer, Nazil Jafir Shayin, has been appointed as the Joint Secretary in Defence Ministry
