MoHUA launches 'Main Bhi Digital 3.0' to leverage Digital Onboarding & Training of Street-Vendors

As many as 45.5 lakh applications have been received, so far of which, 27.2 lakh loans have been sanctioned and 24.6 lakh loans have been disbursed. An amount of two thousand four hundred 44 crore rupees have been disbursed so far.

A special campaign aimed to streamline street vendors in one platform for their digital onboarding and training under the PM SVANidhi scheme across 233 cities is launched jointly by the MInistry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The drive which is in line with PM Modi's Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas campaign was virtually launched by Secretary MoHUA, Durga Shankar Mishra, and Secretary, MeitY, Ajay Prakash Sawhney.

Major digital payment companies as BharatPe, Mswipe, PhonePe, Paytm, Aceware are to partake in this drive to issue UPI IDs, QR code and provide digital training. The Digital Payment Aggregators will handhold the street vendors to bring about enhanced adoption of digital transactions and behavior change, thus promoting digital transactions instruction; which is also been levied on Lending Institutions to handover a durable QR Code and train the beneficiaries for conducting digital receipt and payment transactions within a week of disbursement.

So far, 45.5 lakh applications have been received. Out of these, 27.2 lakh loans have been sanctioned and 24.6 lakh loans have been disbursed. The amount disbursed so far is 2 thousand 4 hundred 44 crore rupees. More than 70 thousand 448 street vendors have repaid their first loan tranche. Out of 22.41 lakh digitally on-boarded street vendors, 7.24 lakh street vendors are digitally active and have recorded 5.92 Crore number of digital transactions.
