The Karnal Municipal Corporation has decided to install ICT-based feedback monitoring system in community and public toilets in the town on pilot basis to get feedback from people about cleanliness and functioning of those facilities.

In the first phase, this Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based system will be installed by the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) outside 25 toilets in Karnal. The process for this will start during this month, an official release said here today.

Of the selected toilets, 14 are 'Sulabh Suchalaya' (Sulabh toilets) and 11 community toilets.

People could give their feedback about the condition of the toilet by pressing a button on a device to be installed outside the facility.

"First button means clean, second OK which means fine and third means dirty. Feedback given by the citizens would go to the civic body's IT department every day which will help to ascertain the condition of the toilets," it said. PTI
