Intel and DST call for entries for the 'Innovate for Digital India' challenge

The last date for applications for 'Innovate for Digital India' challenge, by Intel and the Department of Science and Technology (DST) with support from CIIE (IIM-A), DeitY and MyGov.in, is June 22, 2015

NEW DELHI, June 8: 'Innovate for Digital India' challenge by Intel and the Department of Science and Technology is now open to entrepreneurs, innovators and academia. The challenge, officially launched in April 2015, has been designed in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), with support from the Department for Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) and MyGov.in and will be managed by IIM Ahmedabad's Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE). The last date of application is June 22, 2015*. CIIE (IIM-A), along with executing the challenge, will also work for application management, program facilitation and popularisation together with Intel and MyGov. Total grant associated with the project is worth Rs. 1.5 crores and the top three selections will get access to a seed fund of Rs 20 lakhs each. Intel in India and the DST are beckoning the innovators and entrepreneurs for entering the Intel & DST - "Innovate for Digital India" challenge". The challenge is aimed at fostering a culture of innovation, create solutions that can address local needs and build an empowered ecosystem for pervasive technology adoption in the country. The challenge is open to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, innovators, academia, designers, engineers and makers from diverse backgrounds. To participate in the challenge, candidates must log on to http://www.innovatefordigitalindia.intel.in and register their projects at the earliest. The registration closes on June 22nd, 2015. Participants of the Intel & DST - 'Innovate for Digital India Challenge' will be mentored by industry stalwarts and Intel experts. The participants will be trained in technical know-how, will be provided access to product kits and infrastructure and multiple commercialisation opportunities. They will be offered market linkages and access to funds at various stages to enable them to make their solutions readily deployable. *These are proposed dates and subject to change
