Haryana CM launches 24x7 power supply project

GURGAON, April 29: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today inaugurated the National Transmission Asset Management Centre (NTAMC) developed by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited at Manesar here. Describing the project as a step towards providing 24 hours power supply to the consumers Haryana, Khattar said more initiatives will be taken to address the shortcomings of power sector in the state. The minister stated that the state government is concerned about those farmers in Haryana who had given land for development. Their welfare will be ensured by bringing more industries so that they get ample employment opportunities. The thrust will be laid on skill development of youth and imparting them technical education, he said. The Union Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal, also present at the occasion said that he had stayed in Mumbai where he has never seen any power cut, similar situation can be created in Haryana. He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promise of providing better power supply and said that efforts were being made in that direction. The Power Grid Corporation has developed a vast electrical network in last 25 years which would be under surveillance through the NTAMC. In order to manage and control vast network, the corporation had decided, around three years back, that information technology should be leveraged to maximise efficiency, bring about transparency in its operations and optimize utilization of its assets that are spread across the country.
