France To Collaborate With Puducherry For City Development

The French envoy discussed with Lt Governor Kiran Bedi the ongoing partnership between France and India in urban planning, conservation and protection of heritage buildings in Puducherry and also development of tourism

France has agreed to work in collaboration with the Puducherry government in urban planning, conservation and protection of heritage buildings and development of tourism.

This was conveyed by Catherine Suard, the new Consul General of France in Puducherry, a former French colony, when she met Lt Governor Kiran Bedi at the Raj Nivas.

A release from the Lt Governor's office said that the French envoy discussed with Bedi the ongoing partnership between France and India in urban planning, conservation and protection of heritage buildings in Puducherry and also development of tourism.

It said that the Consul General agreed to work in collaboration with Puducherry governnent in these areas.

The Union Territory has been included in the Smart City Mission by the Union Urban Development Ministry
