DTC to conduct trial of e-ticketing machines in buses

The government will move towards common mobility cards for travelling in both DTC buses and the Metro, once e-ticketing machines are installed

NEW DELHI, December 21: Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will introduce e-ticketing machines (ETMs) in some of its buses on a trial basis from next month, Transport Minister Gopal Rai said today. Rai said that after installing ETMs in all buses by April -May next year, the government will move towards common mobility cards for travelling in both DTC and Metro, which will be done on priority basis. "DTC will charge fares from passengers through ETMs in some of its buses on a trial-basis. Once ETMs are installed by April-May, the government will start working out a plan on a common mobility card that will be applicable in both DTC buses and Metro," the Minister told reporters here.
