Clean Arunachal Fortnight to be observed from Feb 1 to 13

ITANAGAR, January 11 (PTI) With the motto and the theme 'My city, My pride! I'll Clean It' the 'Clean Arunachal Fortnight' will be observed from February 1 to 13 next as a curtain raiser to the much awaited 30 years of Arunachal Pradesh Statehood Day celebrations on February 20 this year. A brainchild of Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi, the campaign is aimed at keeping Arunachal Pradesh clean for a healthy environment where each and every citizen of the state is a stakeholder, an official release said. A preliminary meeting was convened by Negi with Commissioner General Administration, Secretary Finance, Secretary Planning, Secretary Art and Culture, DC Capital, Chief Estate Officer and representatives of Urban Development and PWD today in this regard. An action plan to materialise the campaign is being worked out and concerned deputy commissioners will work out the plans for their respective districts. There will be nine zones in Itanagar and four zones in Naharlagun to ensure complete cleanliness drive where every stakeholder will render one hour of social service in the morning during the fortnight, the release said. The students will take part in this campaign within the school and their neighbourhood, the release added. -PTI
