BW|ACCELERATE announces its first batch of start-ups

An incisive three-month programme for start-ups, ACCELERATE|ENTREPRENEUR by BW|ACCELERATE, concentrates on product development & insights; go-to-market strategy & customer acquisition; business expansion and fund raising

JUNE 1: ACCELERATE|ENTREPRENEUR, BW|ACCELERATE's acceleration programme has announced its first batch of ten start-ups. As the first city of operations, this multi-city acceleration program comprises of start-ups based out of Delhi-NCR. This batch was selected from over 350 applications from the region. BW|ACCELERATE is a strategic initiative by BW|BUSINESSWORLD Media Group to build a multi-city, world class platform for Indian start-ups to fast track growth. The key focus of this initiative is to make available all relevant resources and infrastructure for start-ups within the vicinity of operations, to deliver cutting edge solutions and build large businesses. ACCELERATE|ENTREPRENEUR is an incisive three-month, 12 weeks programme with a focus on knowledge, intelligence and market access. The program concentrates on product development & insights, go-to-market strategy & customer acquisition, business expansion, networking, strategic marketing and fund raising. It further promotes professional mentors and advisor participation in start-ups and enables stakeholders to price their participation for the time and effort committed in the form of mentor, advisor equity. Ashu Agrawal, Director, BW |ACCELERATE says, “we are working to change the paradigm of start-up acceleration in the country. Our effort is to proactively enable start-ups to achieve greater heights.” He adds, “enabling professionals outside the realm of the start-up eco system to participate is a key focus area at ACCELERATE.” The three-month accelerator programme will allow participating start-ups with an opportunity to interact and be mentored by the sharpest thought leaders, founders, CEOs and CXOs from the industry. This program further enables specific and tailored interactions with experts and successful entrepreneurs through focused mentoring sessions.  During the course of the program the start-ups will also connect and interact with various investors, which include prominent angel investors and venture capital funds. BW|ACCERELATE will be accepting the next round of applications for ACCELERATE|ENTREPRENUER-DELHI-NCR chapter towards the end of June. Announcement of applications  for Mumbai chapter will be rolled out shortly. Here's a little more on the ten startups selected for the first batch. AddoDoc is an extremely incisive in-clinic Software as a service (SaaS that primarily works to improve doctor productivity by digitising doctor-patient communication. This easy-to-use practice management solution can be setup in under 15 minutes with elementary level hand - holding. This application also comes with patient side extensions that can be used for opinions, evaluations and diagnostics across the entire medical ecosystem. Conceived by a team from International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, it has acquired a sizeable number of paying doctor across cities like Meerut and Faridabad. AddoDoc is truly working to redefine the doctor-patient relationship, in a country where healthcare needs foremost attention. AROUND is a swift mobile app focused on catering to ad hoc household troubles. AROUND serves customers with a hybrid platform that connects a user to local service providers and offers managed services. This app maps last mile delivery of service to ensure quality, efficiency and possibility of re-occurrence.  With its focus on quality, AROUND maps technical skill and competency of the resource to ensure effective deployment. Backed by a team from IIM-Ahmedabad, AROUND further enables resources to upgrade skill level, through specific content developed in collaboration with the best businesses in such fields. Adurcup is a savvy hyperlocal advertising solution for businesses to adverse on disposables across QSR-quick service restaurants and take away counters. It enables businesses to apply various user side permutations and combinations and publish in real me, or plan spends over a period of me. This platform lets an advertiser bypass any liaison with the restaurant owner, and provides pointed analytics to price view. Founded by a team from IIT-Kanpur, it enables brands with accountability and user engagement. Currently operational in Delhi-NCR it has acquired over 50 outlets in a matter of two weeks. Chalopadho is an online Do It Yourself (DIY) learning platform. It enables the Flipped Class methodology of teaching. Focused on experiential learning, its unique algorithm brings about a dramatic improvement in student learning. On the other hand, it enables stakeholders like educators and parents to evaluate a child's comprehension and supports them to create multiple forms of content to enable concept absorption with ease. In a very short duration, this team of BITS Pilani and SRCC alumni has successfully piloted at some of the most prominent private schools and have acquired year long relationships across multiple classes. EduVision is a cutting edge DIY education e-commerce technology enabler. It offers a complete plug and play education retail intelligence solution. This application comes with a managed backend for any instution upto last mile delivery of education. With an ease of setting up in less than 20 minutes, this platform enables educational institutions to create an extension to the classroom. It empowers an educator to create a catalogue in line with their methodology of teaching. On the other hand it also offers vendors a seamless platform to demonstrate products and services to decision makers, enabling business opportunities beyond local or regional existence. This dynamic team of IIT-IIM (Indian Institute of Management) alumni is swiftly acquiring educational institutions across the country. Instaproc is an intelligent business procurement assistance application. It is designed to cater to businesses across size and life cycle stages. This easy to use application allows businesses flexibility to manage existing vendors and enables new vendor participation to fulfil published requirements. It enables users to share their pictures anonymously with a dermatologist at the click of a button and receive personalised recommendations. It functions seamlessly with improvement mapping mechanics and continued follow-ups. Backed by a team with over a decade of experience in the fields of dermatology and technology, MyDermacy.com intends to put an end to the prevailing habit of self-medication by making a qualified doctor accessible on a smartphone. Bring out the Federer in you! Play Your Sport is a location-based sports and fitness app that lets you discover people with similar sports or fitness interests, in your nearby area. It enables you to explore activities, and helps you create an event for others to participate in. Backed a team of ex-bankers, this passionate team of sports and fitness enthusiasts  allows you to let your competitive streak fly. Tpot is a food-tech start-up focused on serving authentic and varied flavours of tea. It blends tea with healthy bites for the health aware. As an extension of physical stores, Tpot is launching its mobile app. This extension enables consumers to customise their order in the cloud. Tpot currently operates 8 retail outlets across Delhi-NCR and works to grow across planned locations. Executed by a team of Chartered Accountants with over eight years of experience across consulting majors, it has been rated among the best places for tea in the capital by Hindustan Times, Times city, Zomato, and many more. SurveyGamez is a swift DIY response platform. It uses enhanced gamification techniques, rich visuals/imagery to serve as a business interactive tool. The diversity of this platform offers business to create engaging feedback, survey assessment and audit applications. The analytics backend assists in drawing results, and testing hypotheses.  SurveyGamez has been used by FMCG and healthcare majors and is being successfully deployed as an education and learning product by IT/ITES players.
