321 Crores allotted for Smart City Varanasi says CEO, Varanasi Smart City Dr Nitin Bansal

Varanasi, also known as Banaras or Kashi, city on the banks of the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh, India, is set to roll out they key projects in the city for areas based and pan city development.

The city is one of the oldest living cities in the world and is revered by millions being spiritual capital of India. Prominent sources of employment in the city include silk weaving, carpets and crafts and tourism amongst others. 

Speaking at the BW Businessworld and Varanasi Smart City’s National Smart City Conclave in Varanasi on 13th October, Dr Nitin Bansal, CEO Varanasi Smart City told BW Businessworld that Varanasi Smart City has already rolled out RPFs for various projects like Command and Control Centre, Parking, Waste Management and Development of proper roads. 

He also told that Japan is already working with Municipal Corporation of Varanasi for development of Convention Centre in Varanasi. The convention centre was already announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi few months back in the state of Gujarat.

“We also plan to roll out Smart cards which will help citizens in help is easy paying of taxes and government bills”, added Commissioner Dr Nitin Bansal
