In a recent initiative the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar launched PM Daksh Portal and Mobile Application under the Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi (PM-DAKSH) Yojana, to make skill development training programs easily accessible to the target groups of Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and sanitation workers that would foster entrepreneurship culture, ensure economic empowerment of the marginalized section and availability of skilled resources in the nation. 

According to Mr. R Subrahmanyam, Secretary (IAS) of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, earlier the entire skill-management system was manual, paper-based, which was prone to error, spoofing and the ministry used to have very superficial, unauthentic data on the entire system, based on which government was required to dispense stipend and other benefits to trainees and training centers – this resulted in a massive loss to both government and society, as unskilled and non-serious trainees got benefited.

 In order to make the whole system transparent, traceable, fool-proof, and absolutely effective, BIOCUBE has developed a Mobile Application for Biometric signature-based Trainee Lifecycle monitoring from the time of onboarding till the end of their journey, based on its unique, 100% Made-in-India Biometric-Identity platform. “We are now going to bring in non-invasive biometric Aadhaar based paperless digital attendance mechanism from BIOCUBE…. which will be tamperproof and enhance the overall monitoring capabilities of the existing system”, mentioned Mr. R. Subrahmanyam. BIOCUBE solution will allow users (Trainees and Staffs) to do a one-time profile and face biometrics registration using their own mobile or a centralized system at the Training Centers, linked with their verified Aadhaar. 

During daily attendance, the user is authenticated with his face biometrics seamlessly, using the pre-installed desktops with webcams or mobile/tablet devices at the training centers, even without Internet connectivity – No additional hardware like a fingerprint scanner, etc. is required in the system. A completely digital and automated process brings transparency and tamperproof monitoring in the whole system. Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar said, “Some of the salient features of PM DAKSH portal include the availability of all information related to skill development at one place for all trainees and staffs, the facility to register with the training institute and for the Program of one's interest, the facility to upload desired documents related to personal information, the facility to register the attendance of trainees through the face and eye scanning during the training period and monitoring facility through photo and video clip during training etc.” BIOCUBE is a Made-in-India, globally unique, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision enabled SaaS platform, for Self-Service Multi-factor and Multi-modal Biometric authentication on regular smartphones or tablets, or cameras.
